How Much Are Posca Markers? Best Pricing And Options

Posca pens are fantastic, I’m a huge fan and have a pretty sizeable collection of Posca pens. One thing I have noticed is that whenever I go to purchase a new set or individual Posca pens, the price varies quite a lot depending where I look. So how much are Posca markers?
In this article I will look at the actual costs of Posca pens across the major retailers and also compare these to retailers around the world so you can get a view at the average price of Posca pens.
We will be looking at USA prices first and then there is an International section further down which answers how much Posca pens are in Australia, Canada, Japan and UK (England).

How Much Are Posca Markers?
Now keep in mind that Posca paint pens come in various nib sizes and packs which makes trying to list the prices of every combination almost impossible.
Buying in a pack or in bulk will definitely save you some money.
So what I have done is picked 3 common Posca paint pen types and nib sizes to compare.
I will be comparing the prices for a:
1. PC-1M in black (PC-1M covers PC-1MR/PC1-MC which are 0.7mm. This information will help as some search results are unclear.)
2. PC-7M in black (PC-7M are also sold as 7mm. This information will help as some search results are unclear.)
3. PC-17K in black (PC-17K are also sold as 15mm. This information will help as some search results are unclear.)
These 3 sizes cover Posca paint pen nibs from one of the smallest to the large chisel nib.
This will give you a good idea as to price variations between sellers.
If you’re new to Posca and do not know, not all colors are available for all nib sizes!
If you would like to know more about Posca nib sizes and colors then I suggest having a look at How many Posca pen colors are there? All colors listed! that I wrote and see what is available.
The article contains a nice easy to follow chart plus a diagram comparing the various nib sizes.
Uni Ball Posca also make other types of pens such as Posca Chalk (used on blackboards), Posca Wax Pastels etc but I will not be comparing these in this article.
How much are Posca markers in the USA?
In the USA we have access to many top retailers who are competing for your dollar so prices are going to be competitive right? Let’s have a look.
To obtain more accurate pricing I suggest you visit each store and make your own up-to-date price comparison on the actual pens you wish to purchase.
Prices do not factor in shipping to your location so please look into this when considering where to purchase your Posca paint pens online.
Amazon – Amazon.com (Posca pens Amazon)
Amazon is an excellent choice for purchasing Posca pens because of the convenience it offers. With just a few clicks, you can easily browse through a wide variety of Posca pens in different sizes, colors, and sets and if you’re an Amazon Prime customer, depending on where you live you can have your order delivered within hours to next day. This is something you may not get from other resellers.
Purchasing Posca pens on Amazon also allows you to read customer reviews and see photos of the markers in use to help you make an informed decision.
Another advantage of purchasing Posca pens on Amazon is the competitive pricing. Amazon often offers discounts and deals on Posca pens, making them one of cheapest places to buy Posca pens online. They usually more affordable than purchasing them in-store or from other online retailers.
Additionally, with Amazon’s “Subscribe and Save” program, you can save even more by setting up automatic deliveries of your favorite Posca pens. Overall, purchasing Posca pens on Amazon is a convenient, affordable, and reliable option for artists, crafters, and DIY enthusiasts alike.
So if you are interested in seeing the Amazon Posca markers price, click on the image below and search for the packet size, Posca pen size (nib size) and order as many as you need. If you are wondering are Posca markers expensive in the USA then look at our local prices and compare them to not only other resellers in the USA but also overseas and you will find we get the best deals (even better than Japan!).
PoscaWalmart – Walmart.com
I do not receive any affiliate commission from Walmart.
Walmart’s online shopping model is similar to Amazon where they are fulfiling orders by resellers on their platform. Their search feature leaves a lot to be desired so keep this in mind when searching on their site.
1. PC-1M in black – US$8.85 – they do no seem to stock black but the price should be the same as this is the price quoted for all colors
2. PC-7M in black – US$10.96 – they do no seem to stock black but the price should be the same as this is the price quoted for all colors
3. PC-17K in black – US$n/a – they do not even seem to stock this!
Blick Art Materials – Dickblick.com
I do not receive any affiliate commission from Blick.
1. PC-1M in black – US$5.24 – Blick lists the PC-1M as the 0.7mm
2. PC-7M in black – US$6.50 – Blick lists the PC-7M as the 7mm
3. PC-17K in black – US$9.55 – Blick lists the PC-17K as the 15mm
Michaels – michaels.com
I do not receive any affiliate commission from Michaels.
1. PC-1M in black – US$3.99 – Michaels only seem to stock Black or White
2. PC-7M in black – US$N/A – Michaels do not seem to stock PC-7M, the closest is the PC-5M @ $3.99
3. PC-17K in black – US$N/A – Michaels do not seem to stock PC-17K, the closest is the PC-8K @ $7.49
Other Stores
I was going to include Flax ART And DESIGN but their website is designed to only accept orders located within 6 miles of one of their stores.
Which is a weird policy if you ask me, leaving lots of sales on the counter to national retailers when shipping is such breeze these days. Perhaps this has to do with an agreement they have with the importer.
Also, I found etsy.com sells Posca markers via individual stores. I am not sure how the sellers get around Etsy’s rules for selling new art materials that are not hand-made or vintage. In any case, have a look here, you never know: https://www.etsy.com/market/japanese_posca
Lastly I have stayed away from eBay and Aliexpress and Alibaba as I could not get confirmation as to where the Posca pens are coming from, if they pens are real or counterfiet or old/used stock.
You may pick up a great deal but it’s a case of buyer beware.
How much are Posca markers Internationally?
Are posca markers expensive overseas or cheaper? The answer is quite surprising.
Internationally, Posca prices will vary depending on exchange rates and shipping rates.
You would assume Posca are quite inexpensive in Japan or Australia due to the exchange rates, but shipping may kill that proposition.
Therefore factor in shipping to your location when considering where to purchase your Posca paint pens online.
It’s also the reason why many international customers purchase from Amazon, because it may still end up cheaper due to USA national and international retailers purchasing power.
We are going to cover Australia, Canada, Japan, UK. Only.

How much are Posca Markers – Wrap up!
As you can see, next time you’re asked “How much are Posca markers”? You can safely state that the price of Posca pens varies not only by country but by store.
My tip for buying most art supplies is that if the price difference is not that much, look at the cost of shipping and foremost look at Returns policies, customer service reputation and shipping times.
The other thing you may consider is to look at alternative products by competitors but in my opinion, nothing beats a good Posca paint pen for drawing with paint.
